Metro West Learning Center offers a unique camp opportunity for grades K-12.
Our Camp Club Clue will be held over two weeks. You can choose from July 25th-29th 9-12pm OR August 1st-5th from 9-12pm. This year's theme is Personal Space Camp. Cost is $250 per week.
Games and activities will incorporate the concept of personal space in the context of outer space exploration. We will explore perspective-taking, making impressions, expected vs. unexpected behaviors, hidden rules, and non-verbal communication as it relates to the issue of personal space. In the event that we encounter some "Unthinkable Aliens" (Space Invader and Body Snatcher) we will learn strategies to defeat them and maintain appropriate personal space based on the situation and the people involved. We are currently looking for space campers to join us on our mission!

Teen Talk Camp is cancelled for this year. Instead, we are having a two hour session on June 29th and July 27th in addition to the Wednesday night Teen Talk group. Here's what we will be focusing on:
We are excited to begin exploration of JobTIPS. This program is designed to help individuals with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder explore career interests, seek and obtain employment, and successfully maintain employment. JobTIPS addresses the social and behavioral differences that might make identifying, obtaining, and keeping a job. Your child will be completing interest surveys, analyzing environmental demand preferences, and looking at their personal social skill set in relation to job types.
Due to the amount of information covered in these lessons we need some extra time. We will be meeting at our regular times but will schedule an additional hour on the last Wednesday of the month. Here are the dates for your calendars:
June 1, June 8, June15, June22, will be our regularly scheduled 5:30-6:30.
June 29 will be 2 hours from 5:30-7:30.
July 6, July 13, July 20, will be our regularly scheduled 5:30-6;30.
July 27 will be 2 hours from 5:30-7:30.
