Meeting was called to
order at 6:09 p.m., Toni Merfeld, Interim President/Chair, presiding.
Old Business:
Preholiday Gift Bazaar
The preholiday gift bazaar will
be held at Metro West Kids on November 13 from 4:30-8:30. Vendors recruited
are Discover Toys, Tastefully Simple, Bijou Bags, Pampered Chef, Kate
Safaris Custom Artwork, Two Saints Winery, The Pearl Lady, Candles by Liz,
Usbourne Books, and a chair massage therapist. Vendor commitments need to
be in to Dawn Musgrove by October 26. Vendor catalogs will be available at
Metro West Kids for pre-sale in early November. The Bazaar will be
advertised locally and parents are encouraged to bring guests. The four
Metro West Kids’ parents who bring the most guests will be awarded a free
Metro West group session compliments of Toni Merfeld. In addition, a social
delays awareness flyer complete with a coupon for a half price Metro West
consultation will be available at the event.
Children’s Artwork Fundraiser
The children’s artwork
fundraiser has been rescheduled until spring 2010. The event will coincide
with gift giving opportunities for Father’s Day and end of school year
teachers presents.
Solicitation of Funds by
Board Members
Toni Merfeld will be speaking on
behalf of the Foundation at the Waukee Rotary Club breakfast on Thursday,
October 29, 2009.
Creation of brochure and CD-Rom
explaining Foundation’s Mission
Tracy Hoekstra is working with
Drake University to find a visual arts student to complete the Foundation’s
CD-Rom as a senior class project.
New Space Update
Toni Merfeld as signed the least
for the office space adjacent to Metro West Kids. Construction of the new
Teen Room and expanded waiting area will begin soon.
Metro West Kids Foundation Name
The name of the foundation will
remain Metro West Kids Foundation. Toni is working to get the name
copyrighted. In addition she will get the EIN number added to the
Foundation’s webpage.

Working with Toni, Jeff Carey
has instituted changes that have dramatically increased web traffic. Upon
completion of the new space, Dave Nutting will begin work redesigning the
web page.

Next Meeting:
Toni announced that
the next meeting of the Foundation would be scheduled for early November.
A motion to adjourn
was introduced and unanimously approved. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
